Iguazú National Park and Park Iguacu connects three countries, Brazil. Argentina and Paraguay. The park that is located in the Northeastern tip of Argentina bordering the Brazilian state of Parana, hosts one of the most striking waterfall in the world. Known locally as “cataracta” the waterfalls are inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1984. Along a span of about 3 kilometers the river drops vertically for 80 meters in a series of cataracts. The indigenous name of the river is the “great water” bending in a horseshoe forms the international border between Argentina and Brazil. Both side of the cataractas can be visited from either of the countries by an easy border crossing.
