MYANMAR

The Golden Land, known in the West as Burma, is a country whose history is riddled in occupations, struggles for freedom, assassinations, and treason.

Alas, even with a long and traumatizing history, the country still stands tall with beauty.

The plains of Bagan are covered by magnificent temples. It took around 200 years to build this colossal collection of temples representing the peak of the Burmese Kingdom and tradition that made Bagan to be known as one of the most important Buddhist centers in entire Southeast Asia.

On the East, are the Shan States populated by the hill-tribes that fill their markets and religious places around Inle Lake.

Mandalay is the latest hub of the faded Burmese Kingdom, a 19th-century city surrounded by the royal capital cities of Sagaing, Inwa, Amarapura, and Mingun.

We drove south, climbing Mt. Kyaiktiyo, one of the most significant pilgrimage destinations in the country, ending our tour in the incredible Shwedagon Paya, located in the present capital, Yangon.
