KAZAKHSTAN
Concealed for many years under the cloak of the crumbled Soviet empire, Central Asia kept an air of a remote, mysterious place. This area was also the hub of the legendary Silk Route, connecting China to Constantinople, present-day Istanbul.
In time, the area was ruled by many, starting with Alexander the Great, in the 4th century BC. who reached this place called at the time, Sogdiana.
For almost a thousand years, many followed in Alexander’s path until the arrival of the Arabs in the 7th century AD, who established a kingdom creating the present Islamic heritage. The empire fell in the 12th century under the Genghis Khan rule in his bold action of conquering Europe.
